本校簡介

校創於民國四十四年九月，校名為省立嘉義中學新港分部。民國五十年九月改制為嘉義縣立新港中學，同年十一月一日正式獨立。民國五十七年八月，政府實施九年國民教育，本校奉令改制為嘉義縣立新國民中學。並於民國六十二年八月設立嘉義縣立新港國民中學附設國民中學補習學校(夜間部)。本校在歷任校長精心擘劃，社區家長全力配合及全校師生共同經營之下，奠定良好基礎。近年來增建書香樓、科學大樓、活水園等硬體建設，完整的校園規劃,充分發揮教之功能。電腦教室、語言教室、視聽教室、生活禮儀教室及圖書室自動化等軟體設備之充實，更提供師生最佳的學習環境；重視人文倫理道徳教育、環保教育、社團活動等等，均輿績效。校風淳樸，校園和諧安樂，實為少年學子求學的理想園地。

Located in a small, friendly town of Chiayi County, Hsingkang Junior High School is known for its students’ academic excellence and artistic ability. As one of the top-ranking junior high schools in Chiayi, many of its students scored perfectly in the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students, CAP.

In addition to the students’ outstanding academic achievements, HKJH boasts two kinds of art talent class, fine arts and Chinese music, which are the cradle of young artists who have won numerous national competitions.

To cultivate a love of reading in students, HKJH set up a community library on campus. The library has a large range of engaging fiction, non-fiction, and picture story books to introduce exciting adventures and open the doors to a new world for its students. Better still, it has been recognized as one of the most beautiful community libraries nationwide.
